  1. Company must be in existence for at least 6 months.
  2. Production must be professionally mounted by a not-for-profit organization.

SELECTION PROCEDURES

Nominees are chosen by “Friends of AUDELCO” in good financial standing, who submit nominations throughout the year. The Nominating Committee, which meets periodically, will evaluate the nominations. The final slate of nominees is chosen in September and Friends of AUDELCO receive ballots reflecting the final list of nominations. They vote only in the categories in which they have seen at least three (3) of the nominees. An independent Committee makes a final tally of the ballots cast. Winners are announced the third Monday in November at the Annual Vivian Robinson/AUDELCO Awards.

UNDERSTUDIES AND REPLACEMENTS
The Committee recognizes the fact that some roles may have an understudy. Additionally, some roles are double cast or replaced altogether during the run of the show. Only one (1) performer may be nominated for a performance of the same role. In order that all performers will have an opportunity to be considered for a nomination, the Committee has formulated the following guidelines to ensure that:

  • Should the understudy appear in a role, the Committee shall be entitled to consider the understudy for a nomination, provided the performer appears in at least three (3) performances during a regular run of the production.
  • In cases where a production is “double cast,” (primary and alternate cast), the Committee shall be entitled to nominate one (1) performer from either cast performing the same role.
